THE LOCAL DONOR FAMILY COUNCIL
The Local Donor Family Council is made up of donor family members
who have Volunteersed to help others through their loss. The members meet
quarterly, offering support to one another, and providing input and ideas on
ways to help other families. The members of the Council take a leading role with
the annual Donor Recognition Ceremony, and help by sharing their stories, leading
workshops, and presenting the Donor Family Quilt. A member of the local Council sews
the contributed quilt squares together, creating the panels that make the
Donor Family Quilt.

Members from the Local Donor Family Council may also, at times, make plans to attend
the national Donor Recognition Ceremony in Washington, D.C., held every other year, or
attend the Ceremony when it is held in conjunction with the U.S. Transplant Games
every other year.
